Day 1 Report: RUBC Shows Strength on Opening Day of Met Regatta
RUBC made a promising start at the Met Regatta today. The highlight was a commanding performance from the Women’s Championship Quad, who rowed to a well-deserved gold medal. A second crew in the same category also demonstrated their capabilities, competing effectively in the B-final. In the men's events, RUBC faced stiff competition but successfully navigated two boats into each of the A-final and the B-final, setting the stage for further racing.
Day 2 Report: Golds and A-Finals Galore for RUBC at Met Regatta Conclusion
RUBC concluded the Met Regatta with another day of exceptional results. Finn and Ellie triumphed in the Women’s Doubles, leading a strong RUBC contingent that also saw Shannon and Alex, and Anna and Isobel, reach the A-Final. Matt Long continued his winning form, securing gold in the highly competitive Men’s Championship Single Sculls. In the Women’s Single Sculls, both RUBC athletes reached the A-final, with Meg Knight earning an excellent second place overall, while Zara secured third place and the U23 victory. The club’s depth was further evidenced by the men’s quads, with three boats qualifying for the A-final and delivering exciting, close races.
